President’s Corner

Happy May 2020 to all my AZ. PVA Brothers and Sisters.

Well, here we are in the month of May; temperatures are exceeding 100
degrees. I just want to take a moment to encourage you while you’re out
and about to stay hydrated and stay safe because soon the temperatures
will exceed 112 degrees. I also hope you have all been practicing the CDC
guidelines and staying as safe as possible regarding the Coronavirus. I
know it came on us quickly. Stay home, where mask, wash your hands and
sanitize and disinfect everything. However, we as PVA are all military, that
is what we do; adjust and adapt. I am confident that is what you are all
doing to be safe out there. In the meantime if you have any questions you
can always call the Office. If no one answers the phone leave a message
and someone will get back with you in a timely manner.

As for the Chapter the staff has staggered shifts so they are not all in the
office at one time. All operations are still carried out daily but because of
the Coronavirus they are implemented differently than our normal
operations. These are difficult times we are currently going through but
together we will make the adjustments.

As some of you know we were in the process of selling our current building/
office located at 5015 N. 7th Ave. Phoenix AZ. and purchasing another
building located at 1001 E. Fairmont Phoenix, AZ. 85014. These buildings
have a huge potential for business growth. We have four apartments on the
backside of the property and the potential for a great activities center in the
main building. Peter Quinn our Executive Director of the Chapter and his
staff have worked tirelessly in making this happen. Between dealing with
the buyer of the property, lawyers and sellers this has been a extremely
difficult endeavor. Our Executive Director Peter Quinn made it happen.
Everything should be settled by the middle of June. With that said moving
into our new building is where the real work will start. Staff will start moving
things from one building into the other after everything is finalized.

Our next PVA Board Of Directors meeting will be scheduled via zoom on
May 29, 2020 at 10: AM. If anyone has any questions regarding the
chapters upcoming move or the coronavirus please don’t hesitate to call
me at 480-739-7068 or call the office.

               Leonard H Smith, Chapter President
