Executive Director’s Report

The Chapter has seen a large number of changes at the Prescott and
Tucson SCI/D Clinics. Long time Social Worker Allison Kitchens decided to
retire and start enjoying life. Allison was a great supporter of our Veterans
and the community at large. Along with the Veteran events she had a great
team of walkers and assisted with setting up the courses to raise money for
MS research. She tried to give all the Vets her complete time and
frequently could be found doing home visits for those who were down for
long periods We have a new .Social Worker who trained with Allison for
about 60 day and Cathy seems to like the family atmosphere of the
Prescott clinic. She was an OEF/OIF SW for a good number of years and
I’ve already been told her old crew misses her .

Dr. Todd left with less than a year’s time to deal with family issues in
               Arkansas.

Tucson has a new Doctor a wound specialist, a new full time RN (finally)
and they promoted the long time LPN La Tonia to full time. Time will tell the
prior PCP left after one year and had been handling the clinic pretty much
on her own. Hopefully we will get and keep a stable staff there.

Phoenix is holding steady at just short of 300 clients. We lost a RN Jason
to the new Denver SCI Center scheduled to take patients before the
summer. We are working on his replacement especially as our newest RN
Jessica is expecting and due in June. Last but not least Jerri our new MSA
is awesome. Phones are answered, on time, can convey any message and
a Veteran to boot. It is good to have the quality help

We are still discussing the renovations to our building; the goal being to be
organized enough when we get three 26ft trucks (in one day) of medical
equipment supplies and other odds and ends people donate. No matter
how good the system, versatile space really will add to our efficiency.

Our Administrative Assistant will be going to the Advocacy Seminar with
Chapter President Smith. Mr. Jansen is learning more than he applied for
and seems to be enjoying it.

Last but not least the election announcements will be arriving at your doors
soon. We are looking for new faces and ideas to keep the Chapter growing.

               Be safe
