WORK ENVIORMENT,
HEALTH & SAFETY
SAFETY PHILOSOPHY
Every employee is responsible for safety and must be safety
conscious. Please report any unsafe or hazardous condition
directly to your manager or to the security department
immediately. In case of an accident involving a personal injury,
regardless of how serious, you are required to notify your manager
immediately and fill out an Incident Report Form as soon as
practical. Failure to report accidents promptly can result in a
violation of the Company’s legal requirements and can lead to
difficulties in processing medical and insurance claims, including
claims for monetary workers’ compensation benefits.
The Company cannot be responsible for personal property
brought onto the premises. Employees are encouraged to keep
personal possessions of value with them at all times or locked in
areas provided for that purpose. Common sense in not leaving
valuables unattended is a good rule to follow in safeguarding
valuable possessions.
SAFETY PROGRAM. Most locations have a safety committee. This team is responsible (i)
for helping to oversee and monitor their location’s environmental safety, partner with the
Safety Manager to analyze recent injuries, engage in hazard correction, and attend safety
meetings and (ii) stimulating and maintaining interest in the safety program. Your partici-
pation in and suggestions to your location’s safety team are encouraged.
SAFETY RULES. For your protection, Tegra has established the following safety rules.
Familiarize yourself with these rules and practice them at all times. Violation of any one
of these rules may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
• Employees should not attempt to lift or push excessive weights or loads. Test each load before
attempting a complete lift. If the item is too heavy, seek assistance. When lifting moderate weight, do
not twist, overextend the body or reach above shoulder height. Please refer to lifting guidelines at your
location.
• Machinery must not be cleaned or repaired while it is in motion nor should it be operated without
using all of the safety devices and guards provided. All Company lockout/tagout procedures must be
followed. Please refer to location safety procedures. Under no circumstances shall a guard or safety
device be bypassed.
• Employees shall report to their supervisor any unsafe machinery or equipment or any other condition
that might constitute a safety hazard.
• Employees may use only the machinery that they have been authorized/trained to operate.
• Certain operations in all plants require the use of safety equipment, such as safety glasses, earplugs,
googles, aprons or gloves to protect employees from injury and Illness. All employees performing these
operations must use the protective equipment.
• All designated aisles must be kept open and free of any loads or other materials.
• Playing pranks, horseplay, practical jokes and running is strictly prohibited.
• Use of forklift or other like lift trucks is prohibited until you have received the required training.
• Be alert. Use common sense and always think SAFETY before beginning any job.
