EXPANSION UPDATE
First UMC Cary is entering an exciting time in our history! We believe that we have
been called to a big dream for First United Methodist Church of Cary. In fact, we believe
it is a God-sized dream—a dream of an expanded and renovated church campus that will expand and renovate our capacities for making disciples of Jesus Christ who grow in faith and love through worship, fellowship, service and witness to one another and the world. We believe that God is calling us as a people to build, not for the sake of building, but to serve.
The Church Conference overwhelming approved Phase 1 (Youth and Community Center addition and Templeton Renovation) and we also received approval from the District Board of Church Location and Building. In 2017, we received $2.9m of the $7.8m Building to Serve commitments. We thank God for this opportunity and celebrate Building to Serve the Vision, the Present Age, the Next Generation, and the Community. Mostly, we celebrate Building to Serve the Kingdom!
In 2017, we received $2.9m of the $7.8m Building to Serve commitments. We anticipate ground breaking to occur on February 18, 2018.
