It had been discarded by bottle collectors digging in the Treme area of New Orleans.
  Hill and Henderson, New Orleans, Transferware Plate (1822 – 1834). This pattern (Tuscan Rose) is one of an almost limitless number done in transferware but a treasured example in the collection because of the retailer’s mark.
