industry data for the development of the book sector in South Africa. Provide
strategic platforms for the promotion of literacy and critical reading in South
Africa Establish publishing projects to assist emergent writers with special
focus of developing indigenous languages. Encourage and commission texts
that tell the South African story. Monitor and evaluate projects that promote
reading and writing in South Africa.
