  Feb. 27: NASDAQ-100, the S&P 500 Index, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average post their sharpest falls since 2008.
Feb. 28: First case of American coronavirus community spread is found in California. Number of infections in Europe spike. Sub-Saharan Africa announces its first case.
Feb. 29: Governor of the state of Washington declares state of emergency. Travel is banned to specific areas of Italy and South Korea, and all of Iran. First U.S. death is reported in Washington.

Mar. 9: The first coronavirus death in Santa Clara County is reported. Mar. 10: The Archdiocese of San Francisco, announces it will close all schools for two weeks.
Chapel is canceled.

Feb. 23: A surge of cases reported in Northern Italy leads the Italian government to begin quarantining entire cities.
Feb. 24: Trump administration asks Congress for $1.25 billion for coronavirus response.
Feb. 25: The CDC says that it’s inevitable the disease will spread to the U.S. and residents should prepare for “severe disruptions.” San Francisco declares a local emergency.
Feb. 26: Brazilian officials announce first Latin American case of COVID-19.
MAR. 2-5
Mar. 2: San Mateo County announces its first presumptive positive case of coronavirus.
Mar. 4: California Governor Gavin Newsom declares a state of emergency. The first coronavirus death in California is reported.
Service Week, including Junior Retreat, the Snow Science trip and international trips to Guatemala and Costa Rica, are canceled.
Mar. 5: Santa Clara County recommends postponing or canceling mass events.
MAR. 11-12
Mar. 11: WHO declares coronavirus a pandemic.
In a national televised address, President Donald Trump announces a temporarily ban on travel from Europe.
After being diverted on March 4 from Mexico, the Grand Princess cruise ship is finally allowed to dock in Oakland, California.
The NBA suspends the rest of the season. Mr. Molak announces Priory will be closed from March 12 to March 25 with asynchronous learning at home.
Mar. 12: MLS, NHL and MLB suspend their seasons and NCAA cancels March Madness.
