FIRE SERVICE TRAINING BUREAU

In addition to the central staff members, the Fire Service Training Bureau hires (with earned
income) two part-time Training Specialists to help support the coordination of program areas,
such as grant funded training, certification, business and industrial training, etc.

The Bureau also utilizes the services of Field Instructors to actually teach most of its classes,
and conduct most of its certification test sites. The Bureau has over 300 field instructors
serving when needed. These field instructors are active fire personnel, serving on either
career or volunteer fire departments in Iowa.
