Local
The closer your food is grown, the greater its nutritional value for you.
Seasonal
Foods from this season have been harvested closest to the date of purchase.
Frozen?
Buy Fresh-Frozen; i.e. seafood that is frozen immediately after being fished.
Your protein can all be bought frozen.
Canned?
Buy from Jars if possible.
NON BPA coated cans are fine too.
Frozen & Convenient
Meats
Grass fed Beef have antioxidants.
Natural free range and grain fed poultry are the best option. If eating more than 1 egg, keep the yolks is the eggs are organic.
Game is the best kind of meat; it might take more seasoning and cooking time.
Veggies - Fruit & Cheese
Cut if necessary only As they begin to lose some nutrients & quality.
Freeze leftover shredded or cut foods if not used within 3 days.
