the lowest cane yield was found in variety Isd 40 (72.98 tha ) and (70.94 tha ) and Isd

Haque et al. (2009) reported that the plant cane of Isd 2/54, Isd 16, Isd 21, Isd

perform better as plant and ratoon cane among all other tested varieties. Thus it can be
suggested to cultivate these sugarcane varieties both plant and ratoon cane. It is also
observed that plant cane and ratoon cane gave higher yield compared to national

average 46.00 tha (BBS, 2014) and there is a great scope to improve cane production in
plant cane as well as ratoon cane in the Tista Meander Floodplain Soils by using newly
released BSRI varieties thereby benefiting the country through increasing national
                     average yield of sugarcane.
