คํานํา

พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจาอยูหัวเสด็จขึ้นครองสิริราชสมบัติ เมื่อวันที่ ๙ มิถุนายน ๒๔๘๙ ไดทรงงานหนักเพื่อบําบัดทุกขบํารุงสุขแกพสกนิกรชาวไทย

โดยเสด็จพระราชดําเนินไปทรงเยี่ยมราษฎรในภูมิภาคตางๆ ทั่วประเทศ และพระราชทานโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดําริมากกวา ๔,๐๐๐ โครงการ
ซึ่งครอบคลุมการฟนฟูสภาพดิน นํ้า และจัดสรรสาธารณูปโภค ตลอดจนทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกลาโปรดกระหมอมกอตั้งศูนยศึกษาการพัฒนาจํานวน ๖ แหง
ขึ้นในภูมิภาคตางๆ ทั่วประเทศ เพื่อเปนแหลงศึกษาหาความรูของประชาชนในการพัฒนาอาชีพและยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของราษฎรใหสูงขึ้น

สวนในดานวัฒนธรรมนั้น พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจาอยูหัว ทรงเปนแบบอยางที่ดีของนักอนุรักษมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมของชาติ อันเปนรากฐานที่บรรพบุรุษ
ของไทยไดสั่งสมสืบทอดมามิใหเสื่อมสูญ ดวยทรงตระหนักในคุณคาความสําคัญของขนบธรรมเนียม ประเพณี จิตรกรรม ประติมากรรม สถาปตยกรรม

หัตถกรรม ภาษา วรรณกรรม นาฏศิลป ดนตรี และโบราณคดี นํามาซึ่งการสรางความภาคภูมิใจแกคนในชาติตลอดจนเปนประจักษและชื่นชมของ
ชาวตางประเทศทั่วโลก จนไดพรอมใจกันถวายพระราชสมัญญา “พระบิดาแหงการอนุรักษมรดกไทย” เมื่อพุทธศักราช ๒๕๔๙
ดวยเหตุดังกลาว สํานักงานพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีอวกาศและภูมิสารสนเทศจึงไดจัดทําหนังสือ “มรดกไทยจากภาพดาวเทียม” เนื่องในโอกาส

พระราชพิธีมหามงคลเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา ๗ รอบ ๕ ธันวาคม ๒๕๕๔ เพื่อเปนการเผยแพรความรูที่เกี่ยวกับเทคโนโลยีอวกาศและภูมิสารสนเทศใหผูที่สนใจ
ทั่วไปไดเขาถึงแหลงขอมูลดังกลาวไดโดยงาย และรวมกันดําเนินตามรอยเบื้องพระยุคลบาทดวยการทํางานที่เปนประโยชนแกสวนรวมโดยไมหวังผลตอบแทน

เพื่อความเจริญวัฒนาถาวรของประเทศชาติสืบไป

Foreword

After the His Majesty the King’s accession on the 9 day of June B.E. 2489 (1946), His Majesty has dedicated himself for the

Thai people’s benefits and well being by visiting them nationwide and initiating over 4,000 Royally-Initiated Projects concerning soil
and water resource restoration and public utility provision. In addition, 6 Royal Development Study Centers have also been established
in different regions of Thailand to serve as the knowledge center for enhancing the Thai people’s vocational skills and quality of life.
In regard of sustaining the Thai heritages, His Majesty is the role model for cultural conservation with his far-sighted vision.
His Majesty the King has paid much interest to uphold Thai cultural and art heritages with the recognition of their essence and value.
Many traditional art, paintings, sculptures, architectures, handicrafts, dramatic and musical arts as well as works in literature, language,
archaeology and museum are thus under His Majesty’s patronage. This contributes to the pride of Thai people in their great king
who is also recognized internationally for his dedications and devotions. Therefore, on the auspicious occasion of the King’s 60 Years
accession to the throne in B.E. 2549 (2006), all Thai people wholeheartedly and proudly call His Majesty the King “the Father of
Thai Heritage Conservation”.
With all Thais’ loyalty to the King, we proudly celebrate His Majesty the King’s 7 Cycle Birthday on the 5 December 2554

(2011). The Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Public Organization) has compiled the book on
“Thai Heritage from Space” for the dissemination of space technology knowledge and geographical information to the general public.
For the achievement of the nation’s progress and prosperity, it encourages the following of His Majesty’s guideline in working dedicatedly
for public good without regards for any reward whatsoever.
