PRESENT PERFECT SIMPLE


                                           (FOR AND SINCE)




                      Present perfect can define a period of time before now by considering its
                       period or duration.


                      With for + a period of time, or considering its starting point, with since
                       + a point in time.
                      FOR and SINCE can both be used with the past perfect.
                      SINCE can only be used with perfect tenses.
                      FOR can also be used with the simple past.



                   Examples :

                           For + a period of time                      Since + a point in time

                      i.   For six years                         I.   Since this morning
                     ii.   For a week                           II.   Since last week
                     iii.   For a month                        III.   Since yesterday
                     iv.   For hours                           IV.    Since I was a child
                      v.  For two hours                         V.    Since Wednesday
                     vi.   I have worked here for five         VI.    I have worked here since
                           years.                                     1990.



                   Present Perfect with FOR and SINCE:
