“The Ballad of the Archer and the Fox” is a
fictional tale from the “Once upon a Broken Heart” by
Stephanie Garber. It is a love story about a cunning
peasant girl who had the ability to change into a fox
and the young archer who loved her but was doomed
with a curse to hunt her down.
As shown to the right, the original idea was to
have the fox surrounded in a ring of flowers. The idea
was switched to resemble the tale a little more, as the
setting of the story was deep into the woods. The color
pink was used to symbolize love, as well as the
prominent color of the leading character, Evangeline Fox.
