Millfield is one of the UK’s leading independent school for football provision
across boys and girls, from prep to senior school. Football is the school’s largest
participation sport.
MILLFIELD 13-18
At Millfield on average there are up to 250 students training
and playing competitively during the playing season in term
1 and 2, from September to end of March, across 12 boys
and 6 girls’ teams.
The programme has impacted on the development of 11
individuals who have signed professional contracts with
our most famous Old Millfieldian being Tyrone Mings
(Aston Villa, England). Many more students use football to
continue their education through a scholarship in the US, UK Tony McCallum Dani Rodriguez
and other international locations.
COACHING TEAM
The Millfield programme has three A license coaches
(Tony McCallum, Dani Rodriguez, Jono Santry ) and six B
license coaches (Scott Laird, Jake Mawford, Ben Boyd, Paul
Hardyman, Josh Gould, Steve Philips).
There is also a specialist goalkeeper coach (Steve Phillips)
who has played at the highest level of the game and has
recently been part of two Millfield Goal Keepers signing Jake Mawford Scott Laird
contracts in the professional game.
There are a number of teacher-coaches who also
hold various B and C level qualifications.
