Academic English
General English
“I had the best English classes ever. My teachers were always so positive and caring
and I improved my speaking and writing skills. We did a lot of group work and had
the chance to get to know each other better.” - Aylin (2022)
GLOBAL STUDIES
Available in weeks 1-6 for students with a
minimum level of English of CEFR B2 or above or
who are proficient in English. For ages 14-17 only.
This option has been designed for students who
want to learn about themselves and their place
in the world through exploring some of the
current major issues facing the world. As well as
debating and discussing topics students will
assist with community projects so they can
apply what they learn in the classroom to real
life situations.
Please note that there is one topic per week and
the focus will change daily. Students will need to
submit a written task prior to arrival. We reserve
the right to move students to General English or
Academic English if we believe their English level
is not B2 or above.
‘Even though we worked, it didn’t feel like it at all. But I do realise I’ve become more
aware of my surroundings and of the consequences my actions could have on people
living on the other side of the planet. And I see it even in my smallest actions. I have
learnt not only that fear isn’t a flaw, but also that I can make it my strength and use
to do the things I don’t want.’ - Charlotte (2022)
