THE EARLY-1900S HIGHLAND HOUSE, NO longer in operation as an
inn, was said to be haunted by the ghost of a housekeeper who set fire to the
master’s previous house after he turned away her advances. Witnesses have
heard voices and seen doors open and close on their own.
