CFDI REQUIREMENTS
BOARD CERTIFIED FORENSIC DEATH INVESTIGATOR
Thank you for considering this CFDI program, developed by Associates in Forensic Investigations and in
partnership exclusively with the Criminal Defense Investigation Training Council (CDITC) and specifically for
Criminal Defense Investigations.
The CFDI will enhance any Criminal Defense Investigator, and all CDITC and other preeminent certifications
and experiences to bring your Criminal Defense Investigations to a new level of advanced knowledge and
skills for the most demanding Criminal Defense Investigations areas – involving Death and Serious Bodily
Injury (SBI) incidents. You will also have unique access to collegial networking and continuing education.
The CFDI is intended to challenge, educate, and elevate you. There are three basic requirements: 1)
Qualifications; 2) Complete and pass the basic Pre-Requisite Courses; and 3) Completing and passing this
advance Program.
Meet the following qualifications:
1. You must be actively licensed (or business registration if an unlicensed state), employed, or in-
house providing Criminal Defense Investigations.
2. You must have at least 4,000 hours of aggregate documented private investigations experience.
3. This includes at least 2,000 hours of documented exclusive Criminal Defense Investigations
experience.
* The CCDI or CLI designations include the experience requirements.
Complete and pass the basic Pre-Requisite Courses:
4. Successfully complete and pass the Equivocal Death / SBI Investigations for PIs Webinar Series at
www.MedicolegalDeathInvestigations.com. A presentation of the completion and passing
certificate is required. This program is webinar and reference material, and the book Death and
Serious Bodily Injury Investigation for the Professional Investigator at
www.DeathandInjuryInvestigationGuide.com available from our agency at a discount.
* This series has no pre-requisites and can be completed any time.
