• Additional information found the trajectory for the shooter was the opposite side of the room, and
when the altercation began the decedent was blocking the ingress / egress. Only when the
defendant shot the decedent was the defendant able to leave.
If the defendant were identified as a male aggressor and the decedent a female victim, could this create a
bias of potential witnesses? Law enforcement? Prosecution? If the defendant were identified as a female
aggressor and the decedent a male victim? What if both were the same gender – male or female? Is there
any influence in gender identifying who the aggressor vs. victim may be? Does this influence how the
defendant became a suspect and not a potential victim? The CFDI should explore all possibilities as part of
the criminal defense investigation.
