Appliqué is ornamental needlework in which pieces of fabric in different shapes and
patterns are sewn or stuck onto a larger piece to form a picture or pattern. Appliqué is a
technique which is accomplished either by hand or machine.

CREWEL STITCH

Crewel embroidery, or crewelwork, is a type of surface embroidery using wool. A wide
variety of different embroidery stitches are used to follow a design outline applied to the
fabric.

Crewel picture entry must be framed and include a hook or wire for hanging.
