Solution

The amount of R10 000, paid by Mr C to Mr B,

will constitute part of the proceeds of the

disposal of Mr A’s asset. The total proceeds on

the disposal of Mr A’s asset will therefore be

R15 000 (R5 000 cash plus R10 000 debt

discharge).
