                           Project constraints

Every project has constraints. Constraints are anything which restricts, limits,
prevents or regulates activities being carried out. When running a project it is critical
that the constraints are known, so they can be taken account of throughout the
               project.

The primary constraints are time, cost and quality. These are often referred to as the
               ‘project triangle’:

                                                         TIME

                                                    CONSTRAINTS

                                    COST QUALITY

Think about the conflicting nature of these constraints.

In additional to these three main constraints, there are a number of other constraints
which will affect the project’s delivery, such as legal, technological, political,
               environmental and ethical.
