Human resource aspects of performance management

                           Introduction to human resource

                           management (HRM)

               HRM includes:

 the recruitment and selection of employees

 the development of HR policies, e.g. reward schemes

 the management of employees, e.g. through training and development and the
                     appraisal system.

Today, employees are seen less as an expensive necessity and more as a
strategic resource that may provide the organisation with competitive advantage.

Therefore, careful HRM is a necessity and should assist the organisation in the
achievement of its mission and objectives.
