                           Accounts receivable and payable –


                           managing foreign trade


               Overseas accounts receivable and payable bring additional risks that need to be
               managed.

                             Export credit risk is the risk of failure or delay in collecting payments
                             due from foreign customers.

                             Foreign exchange risk is the risk that the value of the currency will
                             change between the date of the contract and the date of settlement.

                             Foreign exchange risk will be looked at in more detail in a later chapter.
