I presume you will have seen the article in this morning’s Independent News but just in case you
haven’t I’ve attached a copy.

I know that our results have been much better than MovieMaker and HomeVideo, and that we
are the biggest player in Mayland, but this concerns me somewhat. Whilst it might seem that
other companies are more vulnerable than we are, this is an international market and there are
other companies out there of comparable size to ourselves. We could find ourselves the target of
their attentions.

As a founder member I would very much want us to remain an independent company, so I’m
wondering what we can do to protect ourselves. Please can you let me have your thoughts on the
subject?
