(a) Project finance (including public-

private partnerships)

• Project finance is an industry term for the pool of

finance that is assembled in order to finance large-

scale infrastructure and construction projects, as

well as other public-private partnerships (PPP).

• It is important to differentiate between this

industry term and a business entity seeking finance

for a specific project: the latter type of projects

tends to be much smaller and is usually not

described as ‘project finance’.
