THE FINANCING DECISION
Introduction
• The present financial crisis have not only restricted the access to finance
for many business entities, but placed renewed focus on the risk of
using excessive debt finance.
• For the new, smaller business it is often a case of using whatever form
of finance is available, at whatever cost.
• In contrast, a larger business – with a track record – can often apply
more of the knowledge and skills highlighted in this learning unit, to
secure the right form of finance, at the right time, and at the right cost.
• Under certain circumstances, foreign finance will provide the right
match to such a business enterprise.
• In this learning unit we explore the specialist field of foreign finance, as
it applies to the South African business entity.
