               3.3  Lewin’s Force field analysis

               Lewin also emphasised the importance of force field analysis. He argued that
               managers should consider any change situation in terms of:


                    the factors encouraging and facilitating the change (the driving forces)

                    the factors that hinder change (the restraining forces).



                               Change will only be successful if the driving forces are larger
                               than the restraining forces.

               To achieve change:

                    weaken the restraining forces and/or strengthen the driving forces
