Direct data capture

Direct data capture means data is input into the computer through a
reader. It is the collection of data for a particular purpose.

Some methods of data capture are:

 Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

 Optical Mark Recognition (OMR)

 Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR)

 Bar codes

 Magnetic strip cards

 Voice recogniser.
