               The Universal Declaration of Human Rights


               As important “organs of society, businesses have a responsibility to promote
               worldwide respect for human rights”.

               The ILO Conventions


               Establish norms covering all aspects of working conditions and industrial relations.

               The ILO Declaration of Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work

               Is based on the core labour standards outlined in the ILO Conventions.

               The main areas covered are:


                    general policies

                    employment

                    training

                    conditions of work and life


                    industrial relations.

               The 1992 Rio Declaration

               Sets out 27 principles defining the rights and responsibilities of states in relation to
               human development and well-being.
