                           What is Corporate Governance?




                             The purpose of  corporate governance is to facilitate effective,
                             entrepreneurial management that can deliver the long-term success of
                             the company.

                             The aim of corporate governance initiatives is to ensure that companies
                             are run in the interests of their shareholders and the wider community.

                             There are different codes and practices around the world but they tend
                             to cover areas such as:

                                  The role of the board of directors

                                  The reliability of financial reports and the relationship between the
                                   company and its auditors

                                  The interest of the company’s shareholders in the company
