STANDARD COSTING
Organisations which would benefit from
standard costing
• Most suited to mass production and repetitive
assembly work (input required to produce each
unit can be specified in terms of standard
time/quantity and cost can be determined).
• Less suited to organisations which produce to
customer demand and requirements (since there
is no basis for observing repetitive operations and
consequently standards cannot be set).
