Speci cations: [16], 315 pages, paper. 17 cm. French. Several kabbalistic and astronomic charts and diagrams, including two folded plates of a map of the stars which appear in Hebrew letters, sized: 26x34 cm, 26x30 cm.
Unique Features: In the rst part of the book the author defends the Jews, and claims that they do not defame the Christian mes- siah. In the second part he defends Persian astrology. In the third part he discusses ancient Hebrew astrology. In the fourth part the author presents his theory that according to Hebrew astrol- ogy the stars are arranged in the form of Hebrew letters, and reading them enables the reader to prophesy future world events.
Jacques Ga arel [1601-1681] priest and researcher of Semitic languages, librarian and astrologer, author of this book, was one of the key gures in 17th century Christian kabbalah.

מאפיינים יחודיים: בחלק הראשון של הספר מגן המחבר על היהודים, וטוען שאין הם משמיצים את המשיח הנוצרי. בחלק השני הוא מסנגר על האסטרולוגיה הפרסית. החלק השלישי דן באסטרלוגיה העברית הקדומה. בחלק הרביעי מציג המחבר את התיאוריה שלו שעל פי האסטרולוגיה העברית הכוכבים מסודרים בצורה של אותיות עבריות,
וקריאתם מאפשרת לנבא את כל מה שיתרחש בעולם.
ז׳אק גפרל [1601-1681] כומר וחוקר שפות שמיות, ספרן ואסטרולוג, מחבר ספר זה, היה אחד מדמויות המפתח בקבלה הנוצרית המאה ה-17.
