Speci cations: [1] leaf, paper. 41X30 cm. e regulations are in Italian, and at their end, excommunication text in Hebrew for anyone who intentionally transgresses them. With the signatures of scholars [the elder scholar, the doctor] Joseph Burgo, [the doc- tor] Mordechai Zahalon and Shabthai Elchanan Sanguinetti.
Unique Features: Document from the life of the Jewish com- munity in Italy in the beginning of the 18th century, with tax regulations of the community in Ferrara. ree of the city׳s scholars, two of them doctors, signed on the document. e regulations are written in Italian, with the excommunication text in Hebrew, as be ts a community which is educated and involved in what is happening in Italy, but with a Jewish identity with a strong bond to tradition which relates to excommunication with great respect and in the holy language.
Condition: Very ne. Tear on the bottom of the leaf without damage to text.
