on the door. It was around midnight by now; he heard a male voice say who
is it, Vance he replied. Then Vance heard the chains and locks being
unlatched on door, it was Shelia’s brother Kevin. Kevin asked, what’s going
on Vance? Vance dapped him up and asked where Sheila is? Hold on Kevin
said, but before he left to go get Shelia, Vance told Kevin that Babu had got
killed a few hours ago. Vance could see Kevin was visibly in shock, what
happen? Man this is crazy, he kept saying. By that time Sheila was coming to
door and she could see her younger brother visibly shaken, Shelia start
screaming at Vance, where is Babu, where he’s at Vance? The sound kept
echoing over and over in Vance’s ears. Sheila was crying and screaming
hysterical. Sheila felt down to her knees asking why Lord, why Lord. By now
her family started running towards the door, their neighbors in the building
were opening their doors to see what was going on. Vance had to help her
get up and was holding her. He was whispering to her it was going to be
alright.
Shelia’s crying slowed down to just sobbing. Now she and Vance was sitting
at the kitchen table, some of her family were getting her stuff ready so they
could go and identify Babu’s body. Vance whispered to her, when the
Detectives talks to you tell them these two names Lou and Frankie Man. The
color of the car was blue, that’s it, nothing else. Vance asked, you hear me
Shelia? She nodded her head childlike as if he was her father talking to her,
all the while still sobbing. Vance waved Kevin over and told him to write down
there telephone number, because he was going to be checking on Shelia,
