STATEMENT OF PERSONAL LEARNING GOALS.
I study English for three main reasons. The first reason is new possibilities.
Studying another language can mean a door that can give me the possibility of learning
new cultures and the big possibility of traveling around the world meeting new people.
In addition, I can learn how to teach other people like kids, teenagers and elders. The
second reason is speech. If I could speak in a correct way, I would express my ideas
in a free way. And learning English offers me that possibility. However, I need to be
patient and pay attention to everything my teachers try to teach me. The last reason is
discipline. As I said before, I need to be patient and organized about homework or
quizzes. Nobody can teach me, so I must find the way to connect my thinking with
others, but in a slow, coherent and ordered way.
That question should have been asked in the beginning of the semester. Now, a
formal answer to that question is impossible.
I am going to achieve my goal following two strategies. The first strategy is to
listen to my teachers and learn what I can in the time that I have. So, the first piece of
the puzzle are teachers, and I need to learn a lot form them. The second reason is to
study by myself. If I study by myself, I can get study habits. In addition, that strategy
will complement the teaching. Finally, I will get a complete knowledge.
I only have one goal in this moment, specifically for this year. It is learn English
in a complete way, and dominate it. Basically, I need to express my ideas in English,
and that is it. So, for achieving my goal, I study English every day, even I practice my
speech and grammar using a program called “MyEt”. Therefore, I am improving my
pronunciation and intonation.
