give us His kingdom. My own experience with beloved Swami is that when we fully surrender to him, he gives us everything. We can’t imagine his grace and love.
Even aer his brother’s surrender, Ravana continued to struggle. One day, at the end of a furious bale, Ravana was exhausted. He fell to the ground and could hardly move. Rama could easily have taken advantage of defenseless Ravana and killed him on the spot. It is not dharmic, however, to kill an adversary when he is helpless and unable to defend himself. Rama stopped the fight and, approaching Ravana, gently suggested, “Let’s stop fighting now, and you take a lile rest. Go back to your house, have something to eat, and take some sleep, and during this time think about your position and whether you want to surrender.” Ravana took some time to rest and think, and decided to continue to fight. The next day he confronted Rama in bale and was killed.
Be Like Rama
I was moved by Swami’s description of Rama’s relationship with His brother Lakshamana, and thought about my relationship with my brother Donald. Donald has joined me on five trips to Swami. I wanted to share Swami with him, knowing how meaningful life is with God and how empty it is without Him. Even though I assume everyone will immediately see Swami’s greatness and accept his divinity, I am always surprised to find many people doubting. I must admit that it baffles me, and I am a bit embarrassed to say that I have even become frustrated at times with my dear brother when he doubts. I respect and admire my brother and now realize that each of us comes to divinity in our own way.
When I heard Swami talk about Rama being a good brother by wanting to help His brother realize his divinity, I felt love for my brother. I want to be like the supreme brother Rama, who showed nothing but unconditional love for His brother. I appreciate Rama’s sweet unconditional love very much, and
