Staying Balanced and Sensible
This story is how Swami taught my brother Donald and me a lesson about how to keep God in mind in a balanced and sensible way.
In August 1988, I took a memorable trip to Swami accompanied by my brother Donald and my brother-in- law Dan. My brother was concerned because Sai Baba had materialized a ring specifically for him in 1973, and he had worn it for only a short time. It was a beautiful ring with a silver-like base, a picture of Sai Baba on its face in gold relief, and two large elephants in gold relief on either side. It was unusual, broad, sturdy, and quite aractive.
Donald, a pulmonary medicine doctor, wore it until one day he had an encounter at the nurse’s station. A nurse asked, “Dr. Sandweiss, that’s a very unusual ring. Where did you get it?” My brother felt a lile embarrassed but told her that it came from India. She then said, “Oh, there must be a good
