to capture and reflect a small fraction of Sai Baba’s great love so the reader can share in that love.
Sathya Sai Baba has entered onto the world stage during this dark time to relive and retell a timeless teaching of love. Without an understanding of our own divinity, we think that the external world brings lasting peace and joy, and we taste it and become absorbed in the material, sensory, and social worlds. We get trapped in the ever tightening coils of the external world, unaware that all peace, power, and love lie within our own hearts. So the embodiment of love and compassion comes again to whisper the sweet secret to safety and peace. His compassion, expressed through his tireless service to mankind, inspires us to love God and each other, and to be good. His teachings are timeless guideposts for the true seeker. His love captures our hearts and immerses us in the eternal.

An Avatar comes to mankind to teach about the unity of all creation when we have lost sight of the meaning and purpose of life and are lost in darkness and suffering. “Whenever disharmony overwhelms the world, the Lord will incarnate in human form to establish the means of earning peace and to re- educate the human community in the paths of peace.” (SSB, Birthday Discourse, November 23, 1968)
