3 The Bhagavatha Vahini is Sai Baba’s version of the Bhagavatha, an ancient holy text that connotes three sections of knowledge: 1) the glory and majesty of God’s incarnations, 2) the names of those who are fully devoted to God, and 3) the intimate relationship between God and the godly. It tells of man’s yearning to merge in God and recounts stories about the playfulness, love, and wisdom of Krishna. The book fills the reader with love for Krishna. Like it, in this book, I have related many stories about the playfulness, love, and wisdom of Sai Baba as played out in the lives of his devotees as they yearn for divinity. I have quoted extensively from Sai Baba’s Bhagavatha Vahini because Sai Baba has a special divine insight into the nature of God and so readers can experience his glorious love through its passages. See Appendix C for more about the Bhagavatha Vahini and the kind of love that leads us to our divine reality.
