Baba spoke about the courage, compassion, wisdom and devotion of women. He said that women must become leaders in spiritual and family life and that men would follow. Our daughters’ spirits soared with these upliing words. It was a glorious moment for women, and one that is celebrated each November 19 in Sai Baba Centers around the world.
In his Ladies’ Day Discourse of November 19, 2001, Sai Baba said that the cause for conflict and suffering in the world today is the absence of purity in the hearts of men and women. He said that he established Ladies’ Day to “propagate and realize the sanctity of motherhood and the principle of selfless love.” He ended his discourse with the prophetic words, “This day will be celebrated by posterity for aeons.”
