 much selfishness, pain, and violence. There is so much disrespect and brutality in the world, and people are crying from their hearts for it to stop. If thousands of people stand on the tracks trying to catch hold of a runaway train to stop it, they cannot. However, if the engineer inside takes a little pin and puts it in the brake, that lile pin can stop tons of speeding locomotive. Swami then went on to say that the pin is self-control. He said that if we just practice self-control, we can stop the runaway world.
The crew that had

the discipline of Swami’s
students was learning just
how important self-control is.
It is not only healthy, but also
the central element of having
both inner and outer peace in
this disturbed world. Yes, the
natural state of man is to be good, but we must strive for sense control in order to “be good, do good, and see good.”
