A few weeks later, the lile girl awoke one morning and told her mother that she did not feel quite right and would like to stay home from school. She then asked to go to the store to buy flowers for the altar. She placed the flowers neatly on the altar and told her mother she would take a nap. She laid her head on her pillow and passed peacefully into Swami’s feet. Swami said that she sincerely and deeply wanted this gi and was now very happy.
A Concert of Love
One evening, the male students gave a concert for Swami that was something to behold. I thought I was in heaven listening to angels. Each song and musical presentation was more exquisite and beautiful than the previous. A wide variety of instruments were played with impressive virtuosity, including guitar, sitar, synthesizer, drums, tambourines, and flutes. Singing was performed in different styles, but mainly the beautiful Indian style, showing extraordinary command of voice and instrument. How upliing and moving since all was done as an inspiration from Swami’s great love. His divinity, his authority, his beauty, and his love transformed the students’ young hearts.
Students’ Discipline
The film crew was struck by the way the students carried themselves. They radiated sweetness and good manners. They showed such discipline, walking together to the events, dressing so neatly, and siing so patiently. When interviewed, they spoke eloquently, with self-confidence, with poise, and with great reverence and love for Swami.
Philip and the crew began to question whether it was psychologically healthy for students to be so good. In the West, we are aware of student argumentativeness and rebelliousness and many believe these expressions are a healthy means of developing individuality. These students, however, seemed
