me this story. It took place at Sai Baba’s ashram, Prasanthi Nilayam, in September and October 1994. Dixie was present when a woman had just come out of Swami’s interview room. Glowing with a special vitality, she appeared transformed. People quickly gathered around, and Dixie listened as the woman related her story.
Julie, from South America, had come to Prasanthi Nilayam in the fall of 1994. On September 23, she went into the ashram bookstore where there were over two hundred titles in about thirty languages. She bought a book and began thumbing through it. To her amazement, she found a leer placed within the pages and addressed to her from Sai Baba, dated October 17, 1994, and wrien in German, a language she had spoken as a child. This personal touch made this unusual contact even more remarkable.
Swami wrote, “You are living on a lile flame of light. Your life is like the joke between the elephant and the mouse. The elephant gets involved with the mouse and begins to think it is a mouse. You are not a mouse, nor are you an elephant, nor are you just human. You are the all-embracing light that lights up the entire cosmos. You are all-knowing power. You are pure love. Repeat this continuously to yourself out loud, ‘I am the all-embracing light,’ and then you will arrive at where you originated and discover who you truly are.”
The woman was deeply moved by this display of Swami’s personal love and miraculous power given for her particular benefit.
On October 17,1994, the very date of the leer, Swami picked Julie out of thousands for an interview. He then reiterated in person, “You are the all-embracing light that lights up the entire cosmos. You are all-knowing power. You are pure love.” Elevated by Swami’s love, she radiated a light of ecstasy.
