Sierra Region Culture
Some people can identify the Sierra Region culture. Considering some relevant
aspects. These aspects that can help you to identify Sierra Region culture are the festivities,
the gastronomy and the music genres.
For instance, Sierra Region is a well-known festivity for their habitants. First, the
traditional Inty Raymi party, where indigenous people join together to dance and drink chichi.
It is a traditional beverage made of corn. Also, the Festival of Fruit and Flower where owners
and foreign enjoy a colorful parade.
Secondly, food has taken and important place in Sierra Region culture. The fact of
that is for its agricultural production. For example, this region has popular products as
potatoes, corn, beans, and so on. Another aspects, are the typical dishes as Llapingacho dish.
It is popular from Ambato. Chugchucara dish that is traditional from Latacunga. In sum, for
these cities have become popular.
Finally, Sierra Region culture is identified by some genres of music. For example,
San Juanito genre that is playing on parades and weeding to lift up a party. Another example,
we have Pasillos genre that likes most of people.
In conclusion, these three points mentioned as festivities, food, and music genres
explain important features, which you can know or identity of the place where I live.
