Now that The Groove Cruise is over, I find myself somewhat disheartened. Now that The Groove Cruise blues are starting to hit, I hold on and cherish each and every memory I’ve made. I needed this experience to get back in touch with my spiritual self, my mind, and my soul.
This Groove Cruise saved my life in a unique way for which I’ll be eternally grateful. Without this experience, I could have been hospitalized for depression or dosed up on antidepressants and anti- anxiety medication, which are two things I’ve come to fear most. I made my way aboard in search of relief for all that ailed me; I found The Groove Cruise to be the perfect medication.
The Groove Cruise gave me a natural, healthy, mental high simply by being around free spirits and like-minded individuals who took me in, cared for me, loved me and set my soul free. Now that I’m home, I feel more grounded, more stable, and more sane from the experience. So, I thank you, Groove Cruise, for saving me from myself and giving me my life back. Thank you Jason, Rafi, the entire Whet Travel team, the Carnival cruise team, the Oz team, the DJs, the VJs, the Hug Bar, every person that helped put this experience together, and every individual soul who came on board, from the very bottom of my heart - you saved me.
5 Things to Remember
When Going on The Groove Cruise
Thirteen years ago, a group of 125 friends got together and went on a cruise. Today, it is the largest floating dance music festival in the world. All about the music, The Groove Cruise is a 72-96 hour non- stop music festival that rocks a ginormous cruise ship. The cruise takes place on either coast, goes to an exotic location and provides a unique experience unlike anything else on earth.
The Groove Cruise set sail from Miami, Monday, Jan. 23, cruised to Grand Turk and returned Friday, Jan. 27. For four blissful days, fans were immersed in non-stop pool and beach parties, themed extravaganza’s and onboard events featuring over 50 of the world’s greatest artists. With monumental stage visuals and production, new and exciting onboard events and the most harmonious and dazzling people in the world, The Groove Cruise Miami is an experience like no other.
Whether you’re a past attendee, recently popped virgin, or future cruiser, there’s a
few things to remember when going on the craziest party boat in the world.
Talk to Everybody
The Groove Cruise is the perfect place to meet new people, network and party. With over 50 plus artists, industry professionals and the like, you never know who you’re going to run into. It’s the only place where you can meet your favorite artist(s) in their pj’s at 3:30 in the morning, beat them in a blackjack tournament, or even join them for a therapeutic session of Deep House Yoga. You can even play minigolf with Andrew Rayel and party on the beach with Borgeous!
There are so many beautiful souls aboard The Groove Cruise it’s impossible to meet them all, but you should definitely try. Everybody is filled with so much love and compassion, it’s the perfect place to get out of your comfort zone and let loose without being judged. Plus, you’ll meet some of the most extraordinary people, connect deeply and personally, and make solid friendships that’ll last a lifetime.
Dress up for the Themes
By far, the best thing about The Groove Cruise is the outfits (or lack thereof). Every day onboard includes two themes, which almost everybody dresses up for. People go all-out and anything goes, especially when it comes to the outfits. This year’s themes included Identity, Greek Mythology, Neon, Old School Raver, Flower Power, Hippies vs. Hipsters, Brides and Chippendales, and Mardi Gras vs. Carnival. From crazy wigs to creative costumes to tiny pasties, extravagance is what the themes are all about!
Throw Out Your Plans
No matter how hard you try to plan on being at a certain place at a certain time, it always fails. Sure, you’ll plan on catching Dash Berlin play in the theatre at one in the morning, but the next thing you know, it’s 4a.m., you're just leaving a private party with the Dancetronauts or the new friends you’ve made, and you're off to the buffet before watching the sunrise on the after hours deck. Things get really wild on The Groove Cruise, so it’s best to not plan too much.
It’s great to have a plan, but be prepared for when things get crazy and your plans get thrown overboard. Time seems to evaporate out on the open water; couple that with the lack of sleep, and it’s hard to even remember what day it is. It’s best to just go with the flow on this one.
Relax & Let Loose - Anything goes
The Groove Cruise is a place where literally anything goes. It’s a place where
judgment is left on shore and you can do anything your little heart desires. And when we say anything... we mean anything!
The second you board the cruise, you’ll be immersed in outrageous, non-stop parties. From the moment you board to the minute you leave, you’ll see, do and experience some of the most ludicrous things you can’t even imagine.
It’s best to leave this up to your wildest imagination because The Groove Cruise fam will never let anything come back to haunt you. We may share the stories and the love, but we’ll never diss, hurt, or purposely destroy someone’s reputation. Everyone is a family member and you’ll be treated as such. So relax, let loose, get wild, be crazy and remember - anything goes!
Take Care of Each Other and Become Part of the Family
The vibe on The Groove Cruise is unlike anything else in the world. You’ll immediately become connected to 2,500 souls who’ll look out for you, help you, guide you, and make sure you’re having an amazing time. If you’re found passed out drunk in the hallway, The Groove Cruise fam will help get you to your room safely. If you’re not feeling well, all you have to do is tell someone and they’ll walk you over to medical. If you’re lost, you won’t be for long because someone will find you.
On The Groove Cruise, everyone is family. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you look like, or where you come from because as soon as you step onboard, you immediately become part of the family. And as family, you’re expected to take care of yourself and each other.
Ultimately, The Groove Cruise is an amazing adventure that’s almost impossible to describe, but something that everyone should experience at least once. For four blissful days and five spectacular nights, you’ll be consumed by non-stop parties, extravagant costumes and blissful music. You’ll meet the most remarkable people and make extraordinary bonds. You’ll become connected to strangers and create memories that’ll last a lifetime. So what are you waiting for?
