Rae is a unique combination of singer-songwriter, DJ, remixer and producer who has carved out a niche in the dance music scene for herself through the time honoured tradition of talent and hard graft.
Gig wise, it seems like you have a very busy world schedule, is there anywhere that you prefer to play and why or do you have any particular favorite club or brand that you play with and for?
festival appearance that you are looking forward to?
She first made a name for herself in 2008 as the vocalist and songwriter for Kings Of Tomorrow’s anthem ‘Can’t Stop’ and since then has gone on to work with many top producers while all the time DJing at some of the best clubs in the world.
I love playing Pacha Ibiza, I have had the best times there, also my residency with Pacha Majorca and out on tour. The brand has become known worldwide and it’s been around since the start of the scene so there’s a history and a big vibe there.
You are famous for your live vocals over your DJing, is it something that comes naturally or do you get nervous at all?
Rae was the first DJ/Vocalist to perform at Ibiza’s now legendary Ushuaia in 2011 for Defected and has gone on to become resident for Defected and Pasha and plays at some of the world's best clubs and festivals on a regular basis.
You have done some amazing collaborations over the years with world class acts, do you have any particular favorites to work with and if so why?
There’s always a little bit of nerves before I play, I think that’s normal, but when I’m actually doing it I get lost in it and just love it.
She even made it into the Top 20 Official UK Charts in 2015 when she was the featured vocalist on DJ SKT’s cover of the House anthem ‘Take Me Away,’ originally by True Faith and she recently had a release on Get Twisted Records with Mandal & Forbes called ‘That feeling.’
Sandy Rivera and I have produced some amazing records together, when we are in the zone, good things happen. The difference is actually getting in the studio with people, that’s when the magic happens.
I have my alias project Kamereon, I did a remix and an original track last year (Shakecraft & Kamereon-Sweat) and I’m excited to be producing more stuff on that tip. And of course my solo DJ RAE works, also many collaborations to come, the next one will be a track called ‘Yesterday’ forthcoming on Armada, loads of good things ahead, I’ve been a busy girl.
We caught up with Rae and asked her some questions and this is what she had to say:
I wanted to flip the song onto the dark side. The original mix is really uplifting, this one is moody, for the peak time club. It suits my sets perfectly and people seem to be feeling it.

Rae, with such a multi faceted career is there any part of what you do that you prefer to the rest?
I feel very thankful that my career is so varied. I love every part of it in different ways at different times - writing, singing, producing and playing the music are all my expressions. I guess if you take away all the technology I still have a pen and paper and my voice and that’s my most honest and natural expression.
With 2017 flying by already, can you tell us where we can hear you playing this spring/summer?

You have just released a VIP mix of your track with Mandal & Forbes; That Feeling, can you tell us the reasoning behind the release of a deeper version?

I’ll be here in London for some special parties, also Dubai, Asia & Brazil, my affair with Pacha Ibiza & Majorca continues and wherever else the music takes me.

I look forward to every one, the next one with Pacha Ibiza this month with the TEN family will be amazing as always.
