LASHES - TABULA RASA [Yin Yang Records] - Zone Top Tune - 10/10
What do you get if you make a cocktail, and in this cocktail your main ingredients are Lisa Lashes, Phutek, A. Paul, and Andre Lesu? You get a huge bomb that is ready to rip open any dance floor across the world! Let’s be honest would you expect any less from the legend that is Lisa Lashes, and if the original is good enough for Carl Cox then it is good enough for everyone. But let’s be honest I don’t give 10 marks out of 10 for a release that has just one great track in the release. The remixes on this release are also top notch with A. Paul and Phutek smashing a couple of techno monsters in for remixes! This makes you spoiled for choice in the full on techno category. And then last but not least a more tame remix from Andre Lesu to mould this into an all round release that is worthy of purchase. All I can say is check out the Beatport link and get this in your goodie bag.

Steve Parry – Flippant [Bedrock] - Zone Recommended Tune - 9/10
Not like me to review releases that are single track however, as you can guess by my Zone rating of 9/10 that I think this track is special and worthy of review in this edition. So I am lucky enough to have received this beauty from Bedrock in my promo box, Steve Parry – Flippant so where do I start? It’s a FACT that the acid sounds in the breakdown here at awesome, you can just sit back and savor every second of it with the subtle “get ready” vocal popping in, this track has timeless classic written all over it. It is energetic, hypnotic full on 303 delight. I can’t rave about the acid line in this track enough because for every 100 acid tracks that are created there is only one that makes you go WOW, well this is that track. You can just guarantee that Steve enjoyed every minute of making this in his studio. If you haven’t heard of Steve Parry he co-owns and runs Selador with Dave Seaman, so that is the kind of pedigree that you are looking at it. I don’t think I need to say anymore apart from this track needs to be bought, and needs to be caned for the next 20 years.

Drumcomplex – Junglism [Complexed Records] - Zone Rating - 9/10
This was the 20th release on Complexed Records so it was fitting that label owner Drumcomplex done the business. It is rare getting this German maestro to do solo EP’s at the moment so I knew before I even hit the play button that I was in store for something special. This was a two track EP featuring 2 tracks, the first of course being Junglism which is a high energy dance floor smasher that leaves no corner unturned. From the out in the jungle synth leaving you hiding under a tree to the full on percussion driven main which has you ferociously tearing down trees with your bare hands. Yeah you guessed it the track is a proper jungle monster. Hold on we don’t have time to chill out the second track is called Tailspin. Which has an eerie feel to it, not as dramatic as Junglism by any means but once again this is a high energy driven track that will have you bouncing and stomping throughout. All 20 releases on this label are grade A techno, and some of the biggest names in Techno are playing and supporting all of their hard work. I would go as far as saying at the themoment that Complexed Records are in my top 10 techno labels this year.

Medhat & Dekkstrum - Ritual [sub:Merged] - Zone Rating - 8/10
Flying the flag for Scotland at the moment is this heavy hitting brand which has been taking over the world for the last 18 months. Of course I am talking about sub:Merged which is run by label partners Medhat & Dekkstrum. Now that’s the introduction out of the way, check out the this monster which the duo has just released. The EP named Ritual contains two tracks, the first one of course is named Ritual, and the other Cave Dance. Both of these tracks are proper deep techno tracks that are top notch. This EP has gained support from the likes of Hawtin, Spartaque, Carola, amongst others and of course DaGeneral. The atmosphere and percussion in spot on in my opinion in both of these tracks, with the real subliminal message that these tracks are injecting into your subconsciousness. It is no wonder that these guys have been getting support and bookings across the globe, and creating a memorable vibe in every city they visit. Mark my words to keep a tab on this label.
