What do you think of the development in
electronic music that it has become quiet
easy to produce music nowadays and
everyone can get into it with a small effort?
That´s a difficult question. I mean the technology with everything is so wonderful, the possibilities are so wonderful. The methods and the facilities, but again it comes to us how we use it. What I really miss, more than anything is a movement, you know, a statement. I´m sure it´s there but there´s so much of everything, everywhere, all the time that it´s like: Oh!, what do I do? And I think you have to become very selective. So it´s mixed, It´s like a two-way thing. One way it´s fantastic but on the other way you have to really filter on the many things.
Do you think that is important to have
support by established people as a
newcomer today?
I can´t really answer that because I never had this support of any music industry. It was always a fight. I´ve tried to work with people that I like and encourage them, trying to make public things but as I´ve got older I´ve moved away a bit from music to be honest and more into, say social and political things. But my vision is somewhere else really. There´s a whole new generation of people that I don´t know that maybe I can have any influence on. I mean of course it´s wonderful to talk with people and help when possible.
Is there any advice you would like to give to a newcomer?
To just be true to yourself and not sell your intention, yourself, your being.
What do we have to expect from you in the
near future? Are there any new releases or
concerts planned?
Well I don´t really have any plans at the moment. I have some health problems that I try to get resolved and it´s not so easy for me to perform live or to work with music at the moment. I am very honored to get invited to go to Leipzig on Sunday for the film festival to be on the jury. That´s really beautiful and I really loved that. Well as I get older I need to do things a little bit differently, I don´t know how exactly. I would love to work with music but you start to get tired so we will see.
After the weekend I started to write down this article and watched the concert again on #musikdurstig . Again I was stunned, although it wasn't really the same. I still feel the vibe of that night and I still feel the great honor to get the interview. For me it was just like talking to an idol of my youth and I hope we will meet again sometime, somehow, somewhere.
