Paul, Seki, Rex and myself. She started the conversation by letting Paul and Seki that Rex and I were here to help and then she asked Seki if she would tell us her story. When she was finished, tears in her eyes after such a moving confession of what was really going on, I looked over at a shocked Rex.
Paul expressed his love for Seki and purposefully asked Penny for her blessing. She was distressed for them, but she could only think of them looking over their shoulders for the rest of their lives. This had her deep in thought and Seki began to sob loudly big fat tears rolling down her cheeks, we all realized she was worried that Penny wouldn’t give her approval, obviously she knew how important Penny was to Paul. Rex reminded Penny about his parents and how their love stayed till the end and how even through an almost impossible situation they never stopped loving one another. She crossed the room and taking Seki and Paul by the hand kissing them both turning to Paul she said, ‘You have my unconditional support’, and then to Seki, ‘Welcome to the family’.
It was a wonderful moment we all found ourselves caught up in, we all kissed them in turn and wished them luck. ‘They will need it’, I thought.
I made my way out of the bar leaving Penny arm around Seki both of them crying but smiling with it and Paul heading for the phone to contact his friend in Scotland. Rex followed me out to the car hungry for a kiss and cuddle.
‘When can we see each other again I need you’, he said impatiently.
‘I have a lot of work to complete for the gallery, they have sold all three pieces and need three more if I don’t keep up they will lose faith in me’.
He looked at me like a wounded puppy
