I didn’t want Brian following her over, in fighting form. I didn’t want world war three on my doorstep.
‘Brian and I have agreed on a divorce’, she blurted out, ‘he won’t give me anything, he said that I didn’t contribute to the home and that it was all his money. I only have my car, I sold my flat when I moved in with him and I paid for a couple of holidays one for his birthday and presents before we got married’.
‘Oh, Sherry I’m sorry it has ended like this’, my heart was broken for her, ‘I have some money in savings here if you......’.
Sherry laughed interrupting me, ‘no I’m not broke just yet, if I’m careful with what I have I will do ok’.
I told her to come on over, giving her directions to the B&B. She promised she would be there in a few weeks after she made all the arrangements and after thanking me several times and asking me to give her love to Penny she hung up.
I called Penny the next day to let her know about my conversation with Sherry, she was so happy but had to shout down the phone above the background noise.
‘Is that Shalma calling for attention’? I giggled.
‘Amber you have no idea how demanding the little angel is, Paul has aged overnight he only gets one fed into her when the next one is due’, she was trying to be serious, but she let out a fit of giggles. Her joy was evident.
‘How are you? Any sign of your angel yet’?
‘Doctor Lewis has given me another couple of days. My appointment is around that date so if nothing has happened he said he’ll admit me and then he will look at inducing me’, I was feeling fed up at this stage and really hoped that I would go soon, I didn’t want any drama, I felt like the size of a baby elephant.
